It’s golden jubilee for India’s first satellite Aryabhata

The name was chosen by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from a list of three options: Aryabhata, Mitra, Jawahar. Indian Space Research Organisation has conceived and built 131 satellites since then. India now has 55 satellites in orbit.
